Turkey eggs set

This morning I set the 7 turkey eggs under the broody Speckled Sussex. Evening time is usually the best time to do this as the hen is less likely to get upset and leave the nest, but this bird is so broody you can do just about anything to her. The usual method is to put your hand under the broody and gently remove the crock eggs and replace them one by one with the fertile eggs. With this hen I removed her from the nest, hoping she would 'come to' enough to eat and drink whilst I added the eggs, but she just sat on the cold concrete floor of the stable until I had finished and then seeing her chance quickly nipped back on again, rearranging the eggs to her satisfaction.

Just 28 days to wait now !
