Further update on the broody and her chicks

So far 8 of the 9 eggs under the broody have hatched. Sadly one of the hatching eggs rolled out of the nest overnight, the poor chick died of cold. This leaves the broody with 7 live chicks. She is still reluctant to leave the nest so maybe there is still hope for the last remaining egg.

6.00pm The last egg candled clear.

Final result 6 out of 6 Welsummer eggs hatched, unfortunately one chick dead.
2 out of 3 Indian Game cross hatched 1 clear
7 live chicks.

All in all a successful hatch, shame about the little one.
