Exchequer Leghorn chick

Today the weather is absolutely beautiful... everywhere there is a promise of Spring. The morning started with the now familiar frost, the ground hard and white and the drinkers covered with a thin layer of ice but the cold winds of the past few days have dropped and it wasn't long be
fore you could start to feel the warmth of the sun.

The Leghorn chick is two weeks old today and is feathering up well. Until now she has been with the broody in the shed, however tomorrow I think I may move them outdoors into the broody ark. They always seem to 'do' so much better once outside. Today I have left the shed door open for them to get acclimatised.
