Geese - breeding season.

This morning Henry was a little feistier than usual towards me and after refilling their pond he engaged in much head bobbing. A sure sign that spring is on it's way and despite his advancing years Henry is ready to start mating - his partner not so keen. I did noticed at the weekend, however, that her feet and bill are beginning to 'colour up'.

It is early in the year for this pair, mid to late February being their norm. Last year they were extremely late. I put it down to their age but maybe it was more complex than that.

They will be left to do as they please, I am not looking to hatch or indeed expect any goslings from them.
